A guide to moving your parking management to the cloud

Legacy parking software running on a local server brings three heavy burdens: hardware maintenance, upgrade costs and the risk of data loss. The cloud-based SaaS model hands all of these over to the service provider.

The first step of migration is an inventory: existing cameras, barriers and terminals are scanned for compatibility. ONVIF/RTSP cameras and standard barrier controllers can usually be reused as-is, keeping new hardware investment to a minimum.

The second step is data migration: subscriber lists, blacklists and tariff definitions move to the cloud in minutes with import tools. The old system runs in parallel until the new one is verified - no downtime.

The third step is authorisation: role-based accounts are created for operations, accounting and management; every action is written to the audit log.

Once migration is complete, updates arrive automatically, data is backed up encrypted and all locations are monitored from a single dashboard. Average migration time for a single location is 2-3 business days.
